“In 2017 we asked CBECS to provide marketing services for the 2018 intake to Trinity Academy, a new academy that opened in 2014. Christine developed a recruitment strategy that included: improving existing open events, introduction of printed A5 leaflets for primary schools, systematic data collection and follow up emails to prospective families, the management of a new academy Facebook page focused on student recruitment, production of short videos to promote both the opening of phase 1 of the new build and the application process. I agreed targets with CBECS to increase the intake from 60 new pupils in 2017 to at least 100 applications and pupils on roll in 2018.
Following national offer day when all 120 available places were offered, Christine and the team were able to quickly adapt to new activity around converting those offers into acceptances. They did this by promoting new opportunities to visit Trinity, personal phone calls to applicants and email reminders about the process involved in accepting a place. The outturn position is that Trinity Academy welcomed 120 new pupils in September 2018 and currently has a waiting list for places.
CBECS support enabled me to free up limited senior leadership team time for other duties. When coupled with the extra grant funding generated by the increased pupil recruitment, CBECS fees represented very good value for money.
